The five stages below are the advisory lifecycle: how one technology decision gets made and carried out. Underneath them the platform is doing four things at once, all the time, whichever stage you are in. Record, Intelligence, Action and Control is the platform architecture, not a second set of steps.
The two do not line up one to one, and it would be convenient but wrong to say they do. Record keeps running while a decision is being executed. Intelligence is what makes governance possible at all rather than something that happens once, early. A stage is where the relationship is; the architecture is what the software is doing regardless.

NarrowGateX holds relationships across the technology market, and in some transactions a provider pays compensation. That is disclosed to the client. What it never does is determine the recommendation: the evidence decides whether action is warranted, and only then does anything go to market.
NarrowGateX does not hide uncertainty. It makes uncertainty visible.
Every fact in a Technology Baseline carries one of five grades. The ones that are not Verified stay visible, because a gap you can see is a gap someone can close.

- Evidence directly supports the record.A document says so, and the document is attached to the line.
- Supported
- Several signals make the record credible, but it has not reached Verified.Believable is not the same as proven, and the difference belongs on the page.
- Assumed
- Believed to be true, without evidence sufficient to support it.An assumption that is labeled can be checked. One that is not becomes a fact by repetition.
- Missing
- Information the record needs is absent.A blank filled with a plausible value is the most expensive kind of error.
- Conflicting
- The available evidence disagrees with itself.Two sources that contradict each other is a finding, not a rounding problem.
